As obvious, the term “online education” or “distance learning” simply means what it implies. Through eLearning or distance education programs, students have the capability to enroll in classes that are carried out completely over the internet. Classes are conducted from online colleges and universities across the world, and all that is needed is a bit of motivation from the student’s side to acquire his/her degree online.
In the past couple of years, online education has gained much popularity, as traditional along with online-only colleges began offering distance learning courses after realizing that there are individuals out there who have trouble attending regular classes due to hectic lifestyles. There are numerous reasons why one should opt for eLearning, while on the other hand there are reasons why institutions providing online education are not all that well-reputed.
Pros of Online Education There are numerous benefits of acquiring online degree, and those already enrolled in distance education programs know the true worth of the education they receive. The most prominent benefit of studying online is that neither the student nor the teacher has to travel long distances to attend classes at a particular location as eLearning can be conducted from just about anywhere in the world. The courses and online degree programs are carried out over the internet, through online learning management systems, internet char, real-time lectures, webinars etc.
The second benefit is that online students have the capability to study at their own pace. In a traditional setting, students need to finish their given assignments within a particular period of time, while through online education they can study whenever they are free. The online faculty assigns projects with a deadline and students can finish their projects at whatever time they find feasible within that particular deadline. Read more...
The evidence that sales at many companies are struggling and that companies have to lay off employees to maintain companies’ running. Dell Inc, the world’s No. 2 PC maker, will cut about 1,900 of 3,000 jobs at its manufacturing plant in Limerick. DHL Express cut almost 15,000 people, and so on. This number is only the tip of the iceberg. To companies, laying off employees is not the only way to get through the economic crisis. The pivotal issue is to consider how to ensure your staff works more productive and efficiency to increase profit?
The other day, I read one report on web. It says: “Train to Gain has ploughed £2.4 million into an advertising campaign in a bid to highlight the importance of training to small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the recession.” This drives me to doubt the necessity of this investment. The SMEs don’t realize the importance of training staff, do they? I don’t think so. In my opinion, it’s the high cost and time recoil from their steps. Maybe it would be better to invest such money to SMEs for their training plan.
Most Companies know that investing in training is essential to their business but it is more important than ever in the current economic climate. But the issue is that they cannot afford the training programs. In the traditional face-to-face training, you should have to pay huge amounts of money to the trainers, in-class instructors, or experts. Moreover, you also have to pay for the expenses, such as travel and meals. Not to mention of the cost of time.
Despite a considerable amount of publicity surrounding the teaching technique know as eLearning, there is little doubt that it hasn’t lived up to its full potential as of yet. Even though the primary benefits of eLearning, cost and flexibility, remain extremely attractive, most individuals have not been exposed to this newer learning process.
This teaching and learning technique has evolved over the last ten years into a highly effective method of education. The original concept on its own was not well developed, but over time, elearning has emerged as an important part of a successful “blended” learning approach.
While the more traditional learning methods are useful, they are beginning to become a thing of the past. The eLearning process has begun to overshadow these traditional learning approaches. Integrated with these more traditional methods, eLearning has become the preferred method of teaching in a number of different scenarios.
What is eLearning?
Elearning is a general term that relates to training of all sorts that is delivered through a single computer, with the use of devices like CD ROMs, mobile phones, digital television, Internet and wide area networks. In many cases, Elearning is considered an effective and efficient system of self-paced personal training.
The major advantages of eLearning are the minimal cost per student and the extreme flexibility afforded with this method of training. It’s available via the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whenever the student has the time and interest.
Who Uses eLearning?
The potential users of the eLearning system range from young to old. Has your child ever needed help with their math or geography? Have you ever wanted to learn more about how to start a home business? Read more...
