Technology for Smart Generation
Are you considering running your own online business? Or are you trying already to run an online business but you are having problems or getting stuck?
I run my own successful online business and I would love to help you.
What is the best way to market a business online?
This is a complicated question since it depends upon your products or service and your own interests. For example, if you sell information it may be best to use a service such as clickbank or to sell your products on Ebay but if you sell products as a direct sales distributor then you probably have rules about what you can and cannot do. The internet provides business builders with a vast amount of options, and every method may not be the best for everyone.
What are some of the more popular and the most useful methods?
These include blogs, RSS feeds, a personal web site, forums and message boards, instant messaging and chat rooms, article writing, and ecourses.
What kinds of articles and blogs should I write?
It depends on you and your interests but you definitely should write a mixture of some which are business related and some which focus more on your hobbies and other interests and talents. This permits you to reach a larger and wider audience of people.
Which web host is best?
There are a lot of great web hosts and the fact is that there is no best one. Before choosing one you need to carefully evaluate your needs and you also need to determine the financial investment you are willing to make and your level of knowledge and technical expertise. Certain web hosts are better for those who know how to code HTML and others are better for those who need a cut and paste system.
Are free classifieds a good way to advertise your business?
Think about how you found your business. Was it in free classifieds? Chances are it probably wasn’t. My personal experience has shown that these can be useful for advertising products but not for a business opportunity.
What is the best way to communicate with website visitors looking for more information?
Every website should have an auto responder or email list with which to communicate with interested parties. If you have a phone number you should also call them. It will get you noticed and people will be impressed that you took the time to call.
How do I get listed in the search engines?
This can be a tough one since the search engines can be picky. The best bet is to submit all of the pages of your site, one a day. Then you need to make sure that your meta tags are well written with appropriate keywords. Also doing at least some of the other marketing methods to get more links to your site will help as well. Most of all be patient and know that paying for submission in most cases is not worth it.
When you venture into any business, it is important to know that it does not guarantee instant success and it also involves an element of risk. The success quotient of online business means accomplishing good returns and increasing profits, and this depends on your ability to absorb the secrets and processes that are distinctive to online business.
Some key secrets to successfully operating a business online are:
• Set Goals: A goal is like a chart or a written document. Goals should be clear and precise i.e. the target should be quantifiable i.e. able to achieve and measurable. It should be pragmatic i.e. the goal should be high and attainable.
• Setting deadline: Goals should have deadlines for accomplishment.
• Create a POA: A list of all actions should be made to help in attaining the goal.
• Listing impediments: Maintain a comprehensive list of impediments when trying to achieve the goal.
• Create lists: When developing POAs for goals, create two fundamental lists, a complete master list and an everyday to-do list. The master list consists of all things that have to be done to achieve objectives. The everyday list includes things to be done on day-to-day basis. To use this list effectively you have to distribute your tasks according to their priorities.
It is without a doubt that one of the first things to consider when you start out on a legitimate home business online is getting a professional and reliable web hosting service. Many people don’t do research and end up simply picking the cheapest one they can find in the market. This is very risky thing to do. The lively hood of your online business depends on a good and reliable web hosting service. You do not want potential customers clicking on your site’s url only to find a blank page.
The above is one of many important factors to consider when choosing a web hosting company. You want your website to show each time traffic come clicking on your site’s url right? Always go for good, reliable hosting with a prompt support team. Don’t settle for free hosting if your are really serious about building your business for the long-term. Free hosting makes use of your website for promotional purposes.
I have outlined a simple guide to choosing the right hosting here. Factors you should pay attention to when deciding on one.
The space that you get with the hosting. Do not settle for anything less than 1000MB. You will use it up quite quickly once you start uploading images, banners and article writing. You can host your free wordpress blog with your hosting and that will certainly take up a considerable amount of space too when you start blogging. Go for big when it comes to space availability for your legitimate home business online website.
A fourteen year-old boy is fairly desperate for cash. After all he’s got a video game habit that doesn’t come cheap and mom and dad aren’t willing to pay for every new game he wants.
Suddenly it occurs to the young man that there beats within his chest the heart of an entrepreneur. What he lacks in skills he makes up for in determination. He can mow and chances are pretty good his dad will let him use the family mower. It’s a start and his motivation is cash. He uses the family printer to craft a poster that markets his fledgling capabilities and then includes strips with phone number information for potential clients. He likes to call them mini business cards.
He waits by the phone waiting for the call that will mean a few dollars closer to Biff Blasters 17 – The Prequel. One day and two pass and still no calls. The young man is desperate. He decides to embrace the idea of calling family, friends and neighbors to see if they have any work that needs to be done. As it turns out there is a vacant lot three blocks away that needs to be cleaned up. The young man agrees without seeing it. The job is much larger than he expected and he wants to quit. Dad presses his son to deliver on his promise and eventually the work gets done.
Building a successful network marketing business on the internet isn’t as difficult as you may think. Let me suggest that there are three key elements that you will need to really build an effective and successful business online.
Being successful means different things to different people, so by successful here I mean a business that is profitable by whichever terms you choose it to be!
It is also important that you balance retail sales with team building to be very successful in this industry. There is no real business without sales. Building a team of JUST team builders will not work, just as building a team of all retail sales will not grow the business to it’s maximum potential.
Here are three key elements that will get your business up and producing leads in no time:
Element #1 – Personal Website
There is no way you should be doing business online without a personal website that tells people who you are and why they should do business with you. This website is also a place where you can collect information on the visitors that you can use to build your business.
If you have no experience building websites there are many ways to go about getting your business online:
- Hire a web designer – this may cost anywhere from $200 – $500 depending on who you choose. I design websites for my team members for under $100. This may be an option if you have upline with web design skills.
- Build it yourself – there are a few programs you can use to build a website yourself or you could do html coding. This way is not recommended unless you have a bit of time to play around and figure out the ins and outs of web design. Programs can be in the few hundred dollars or more range each.
- Use a template service – you can find web hosts that will offer template webpages that do not require you to have an special skills. One such program is Make an Easy Website Builder (do a search and you will find it online) that costs around $19/month.
Element #2 – Autoresponder Program
It is extremely unlikely that someone visiting your website for the very first time will sign up on your team on the spot. That is why it is so important to collect their information and then use a program to automatically send them out info on a regular basis.
Can you imagine having 100 people on your list and then trying to keep track of who you have contacted and which message you’ve sent them? This whole process is automated with an autoresponder program. You write up a pre-determined set of ordered messages that then are sent out in the order you determined and in the time frame you decided. It is like you are continually ‘dripping’ information on your prospects!
The autoresponder program I use costs me $19. 95/month and is worth every penny.
Element #3 – Company Website
Many companies will offer you a personalized company website and some even have it set up with online ordering so that you can refer your customers directly to the site.
This website is a very important tool that you should use often. You need to become very familiar with the website and be able to refer your prospects to a page when it is needed. If you are permitted, it is also a great idea to have links to your products, commission plan, company story and of course sign up page right from your personal site.
Once you have these three key elements set up you are going to be ready to start promoting your website, collecting information and building your business! Don’t forget that just because you are on the internet that doesn’t mean that you don’t need to follow up. Make phone calls, send email and get in front of your prospect so that they know about your business and can make an informed decision about the products and business.
