The Cloud Computing Security System
Cloud computing system is to certain extent similar to the electricity installation within our home. Every computer in the cloud computing environment does not need to be complemented with various applications to process the data just like our house and other houses in our vicinity do not need to be complemented with a special power plant. All data and applications needed by every computer in the cloud are stored in the central server computer. Every computer that needs to access those applications and to process the data only needs to prepare an operating system and internet browser or certain application to access the server. The somewhat same thing also applies in the electricity installation. Every homeowner only needs to install a number of electrical appliances to receive the electricity from the power plant.
Since both cloud computing and electricity installation are networks in which multiple clients are involved within, a reliable security system must be present to protect the entire network. In the electricity network, a set of layered security appliances including circuit breakers, transformers and substations are applied to secure the entire network. In the cloud computing environment, quite similarly layered cloud computing security system is also implemented to protect the cloud.
There are several issues that are handled by the cloud security system including access privilege, malware infiltration and firewall. The cloud security system maintains that there must not be any leak in the cloud through which unprivileged users can enter. Similar protection is also applied to prevent virus, spyware, and other malwares from infiltrating. The security monitors all tracks through which data are transferred among all computers in the cloud. The firewall that protects the entire system from intruders is also strengthened. Since everything that is performed within the cloud is accomplished using virtualized environment, the cloud security system becomes a crucial element that keeps the cloud’s operability.
