HTC Desire Mobile Phone – Questions & Answers Part 2. I have been receiving a lot of questions about the HTC Desire, so here is a short video with some Q&A that were asked on my earlier video. Please post any more questions in the comments and I will make another Q&A video soon. It does support turn-by-turn directions if you download the Google Maps navigation beta.
@psedani1 try ”any video converter”
I just bought this bad boy and i lalalalalalaaaaaave it
Is there no equalizer on the musicplayer?
@davomrmac thanks for that!
@psedani1 Handbrake is what you need.
to access all the programs, while IN a program, press the search button twice, and you can search through your phone for apps.
my question is, how can i rip my DVD(s) to my computer, and transfer them to my Desire?
@citywalks Brilliant, thanks for your comment.
Hi can i just say that i’ve really enjoyed your videos on the HTC desire. Your very clear and informative! I’m getting the desire tommorow and these videos have helped, thanks!
@BigNadz23 I just bought one of these and I do not use the service providers internet. Using only the wi-fi is perfectly adequate and causes no problems, during set up it gives you the option to turn off the 3g but you can turn it back on at any time ………. hope this helps
for the last question; YES! You can! Hold down the Home button and you can switch between apps.
G’day. I found your videos by chance and think they’re really well done and easy to understand; thank you!
I’ve recently purchased a HTC Desire after using WM6.1 and active-sync. I find with the current HTC sync application to laptop (XP pro) that it only does calendar and contacts. Is there any way I can get my tasks, and a copy of my email (MS Outlook) folders onto my Desire (as I did with WM6.1)?
@BigNadz23 Widgets that pull data whilst your outside will need internet service from your provider. You will need to pay for this or have it as part of your contract.
@davomrmac Would it be worth it to buy the htc desire outright and use wi-fi as the only source of internet. or do the back ground wigidts take up internet that i will have to pay for?
@msminksie I don’t think it works like that. It has to be tagged into the MP3.
Great video. Can I drag the artwork or lack of it across the screen when listening to music to then tap in order to select? Thanks
@Nielssonnich Hello, not sure on number 2. On your first question, it worked without any additional drivers on Windows 7 and Mac OS X.
Nice videos.. Subscribed. ^^ Definitely gonna buy a Desire pretty soon.
Two questions.. Is the USB connection plug and play? Like can I connect it to any computer (almost) regardless of OS without installing any additional drivers and transfer files like if it was a regular USB stick? I have this ability on my old SE k800i, and really like that I can use it with linux etc.
2) Does its media player support Winamp playlists? Again my SE does this, and I like that I can just transfer my playlists.
@davomrmac Wow, thanks for the very prompt reply. ps. Your videos are very informative and the facts are always correct.
@AloeChannel If you are a light user you should get 24-36 hours easily between charges.
What’s the battery life like? I won’t use it much during the day.
@Kallekulasmamma Yes, should be able to, as soon as HTC make the software available.
@davomrmac Will I be able to update to 2.2 by myself?
@kartheekzzz You can only install to phone memory at the moment. When the 2.2 update comes out you will get the choice of where to install to.
thanks for ur reply. i have got one more question. how can i install APPS directly onto SD card. whenever i try to nstall an app, it is directly storing on my phone memory. it is really annoying,,it always displays i’m running short of storage. currently it is showing that i have jus 10-mb left,,,but i’ve only installed few apps that don’t even exceed 60-70mb overall,,,,,,,i was kind of wondering, where the 500mb of phone memory has gone which the HTC has specified???
