Xperia X10 Software Overview Part 2
Since kicking off our coverage of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, you’ve seen our unboxing video, Part 1 of our software overview, and the hardware overview. Well now it’s time for Part 2 of the software overview. In this video we compare the speed of the Xperia X10 against the Samsung Galaxy S. The X10 is preloaded with Android 1.6 while the Galaxy S comes with 2.1. These two devices face off in a stock browser comparison, YouTube load time test, and finally a simple assessment of app opening times. You will surely notice that we have opted to load custom launchers on these two devices over the stock manufacturer skin. On the Galaxy S we use Launcher Pro, which unfortunately requires Android 2.1, leaving us to use ADW launcher on the Xperia X10. By giving a demonstration of each of the two launchers, you can formulate your own opinion on which you prefer. So, press play!

@TheBigBentley911 2.1 is coming soon and SE have replaced much in 1.6 with better features (some even better then 2.1s).

@k7of9 After having overclocked my PrePlus from 500MHz to 1GHz its running pretty well for most of the apps,almost on par with friends IPhone 4 performance.
IPhone has an enormous store and bigger international support compared to WebOS,other than that PrePlus rocks and puts IPHONE 4 into shame in multitasking,light weight,prettiness,sexiness,hotness and friendliness haha.
@gutsygarrett Do tell about your hands on experience with all of those phones, especially Windows Phone 7 as it isn’t even out yet. I mean, I assume you have since you’re making the comparison?
How is that WebOS store doing these days?
The x10 will get about 6 million colors instead of 65 k after 2.1 that comes in 2-3 weeks (sweden)

My PrePlus overclocked to 1GHz is better than both of these phones in every single way yay.

@arofluv This video smells more like “How Galaxy S is better than the Xperia X10″ than what it suppose to be. I was looking forward for a review that review about the general UI especially what Sony Ericsson had done on the home page. Review of the available customed Widgets or sorta like that.
Terrible review, he totally preferred the galaxy. How about a non biased review please?
