Is there any word or combination of words to describe such a grandeur? This was just a rhetorical question.
I love Verdi, love this song, and love “The Three Legends”.

in pianto o in riso, è menzognero.

    È sempre misero, chi a lei s’affida,

Now that’s well said. Not just less and less important but perhaps too distant from most people by this point, unfortunately.

No I don’t notice it. I do notice that by this particcular year, 1994, Domingo had about 3 times as many opera performances than Pavarotti and about 5 times the experience as a musician, and Carreras had his own health problems that stunted his career. But I’m sure they’d feel validated to know they cut the mustard “in their own right”.

  22. EntElrond

it’s so sad that music like this gets less and less important

  23. zaz0926

Domingo and Carreras are great in their own right, but notice their deference to the the true Maestro, Pavarotti. Pavarotti, the true master of opera, may he RIP

  24. youcantbeatfacts

Domingo and Carreras are good students of Pavarotti

  25. nomorewarffs

is this the best of classic music, or can you recomend some others?
